Description of the discipline: The course will cover some of the most important topics in modern macroeconomic analysis, focusing on short and medium run dynamics, presenting the basic models and their empirical implications. The course focuses on monetary and fiscal policy in closed and open economies, the behavior of the state in macroeconomic regulation and review the behavior of macroeconomic agents in conditions of instability.

Ability and skills: This course aims to develop an understanding of how various markets interact to determine implications of nominal price and wage rigidities, liquidity traps and unconventional monetary policy, exchange rates and macroeconomics of monetary unions.
